New Year's Resolutions!

I personally thing resolutions are great. I think it's important and good for everyone to try to better themselves, no matter what they decide. Some people don't make resolutions because they don't keep them, but I say, at least try! :)

My personal resolutions are:

  • To lose the baby weight (that I was supposed to lose last year! haha)
  • Use my time more wisely-- less internet, more reading and spending time with family and friends.
Family resolutions:

  • Work on paying off debt and saving money.
  • See family we haven't seen in a long time.
  • Travel a little more and get to see more things.
I hope everyone has an amazing last day of 2008. I have a feeling that 2009 is going to bring a lot of good things. Lets all try and make it that way!

*peace and love.

Happy Holidays

Hello! We had a great Christmas, hope everyone else did. Alex had so much fun opening his presents and playing with all his new toys. He got lots of elmo stuff, and a Elmo kitchen that he loves! My mom came into town for the weekend and it was great to see her and catch up, she is looking pretty good! My dad is still in town with us for now. It is nice to be able to see everyone. I thought my camera was broken, but we were able to fix it, of course after Christmas, so I didn't get any pictures. :( I will have to post some from when we went to my Aunts this weekend for a family christmas. :)

Alex has had a fever the last few days, not sure what is going on, but I hope it goes away soon.

Anyway, there is not much going on for now. Hope everyone had a great holiday and has a happy new year! Its time to think about those new year resolutions!! ;-)

Sorry it took so long.

I have been bad at updating! Thanksgiving was good, a little hectic, but good. We ate too much as usual, and had fun. We have been good, Joe is working a lot right now because they started another training cycle at the school (SOI) so he is working long hours and weekends.

Alex is good, he had a doctor appointment last week and he had gained another 2 lbs, he is now 23 lbs and a few ounces. He has also gotten taller, he is going very good. He is starting to try and say the words we are saying. He now is saying puppy, and goes and gets his stuffed puppy dog when I ask him where his puppy is. He is definitely a boy, climbing on anything and everything. He has a new fascination with climbing in and sitting in baskets. He is just so funny.

I am doing pretty well. Just the same old stuff. School and taking care of the house and the baby. Nothing too exciting.

I am going to post some pictures from the last few weeks. Hope everyone is doing great and having a great holiday season.

the last week has been TOUGH.

One of our cars was stolen out of our driveway on the Wednesday the 12th, in the early A.M. from our driveway. We were all very shocked about it and of course felt every violated. We of course called the cops and had a report done and made a claim for our insurance. Thankfully we had full coverage and they will give us a rental car for 30 days, so that is a life saver because having one car is not easy. Alex's car seat and diaper bag was in the car too, so we needed to replace those things.

On Friday, like we needed more stress, Joe got a call from the bank saying someone was trying to use his social security number to transfer money to Western Union in Anaheim. The bank thankfully asked more questions and the guy could not answer them so they did not approve the transfer. Joe had some personal documents in the car for work and that is where the guy got the information. So.. we once again call the cops and get another report for attempted fraud and identity theft and call the SS office and the bank and have them put fraud alerts on everything.

Anyway, its been a long week. I hope they find the car, but I hope more that they find the sick person/people that stole it. I would hate for them to get away with it and do it again to someone else. :(

We were bummed but we are thankful that we are safe, it was just a material item, and though its not very fun, it can be replaced. We are just going to continue to count our blessings and remember that tomorrow is a new day. In a few months this will be just another bump in the road.

And totally off topic! I WANT SOME FALL/WINTER WEATHER!!!! I am so sick of the sun right now.. ugh!!!

see you all soon.

My little Devil

Photobucket

Our little devil. :) He wouldn't wear the hat for more than a few seconds, so I wasnt able to get a picture of the whole costume! But he is still cute!

Its been a while!

I should get better at updating this! Right now life is good. Its Veteran's Day, so thank you to all who have served. :)

Yesterday was the Marine Corps birthday, 233rd, to be exact. Of course this a big day for Joe, he celebrates this birthday more than his own. So we went out to a nice dinner with some good friends and had a great time. Joe's friend Markell, who has known Joe from the very beginning (of his marine corps career) came down to celebrate with us from L.A. He is always fun to be around I know it meant a lot to Joe.

Halloween was fun. I cant wait until next year and Alex is a little more aware of it. He was a pumpkin for a halloween party that we went to and then a little devil on the day of Halloween. He had fun running around in his outfit and helping hand out candy to the kids. He is so much fun. We are truly blessed to have such a joy in our lives.

For those that dont know, a good friend of mine's little girl Katelyn was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia- AKML. She is 16 months old. Her and Alex have been buddies from the very beginning. She a beautiful little girl and such a joy and light in everyone's lives. This is her website http://site.welovekate.com/ We will continue to pray and support them, they are in for a long hard road and we want to help them as much as possible. She will come out strong, we know she will. Please keep praying.. it works and it is greatly appreciated.

I will post some pictures from Halloween and last night, just downloading some now. Hope everyone is good and I will update more! :)

Fun Weekend.

Joe and I went on a little date last night with some friends to Knott's Berry Farm Halloween Haunt. They have 1,500 actors running around the park at night in scary costumes trying to scare everyone. There is 13 mazes that all have themes, like vampires, clowns, doll house, murder manor, etc. You walk through them and people pop out at you. It's definitely not for people that have a bad heart! haha! It was fun. I swear the actors were picking on me, I get startled easily so I was screaming every 2 seconds. :)
I took one picture of us before we went, because I didnt want to carry the camera all night.
Photobucket
This morning we put Alex in one of his costumes, he has a devil costume and a pumpkin costume. We are going to a play date pumpkin patch party and he is going to wear the pumpkin and he will wear the devil on Halloween. :) We put the pumpkin costume over his jammies today and he was running around with it. He is so cute.

He's all grown up! :)

For the last month Joe and I have bought pretty much every sippy cup ever made, nothing worked, he wanted his bottle. He would drink water out of the sippy cups, but NO milk. Well, I finally went and bought the cheapest sippy cup on the market and he loves it! :) So no more bottles! He is also competely off formula now and on lactose free whole milk. I cant believe how fast it is going!

Today we are going to go to the park and run around. I will take some pictures! Hope everyone is doing well!

Wednesday.. hump day!

Photobucket
Hey everyone! It's Wednesday finally, I feel like this day has been dragging on. Today I have my first book club meeting, so Joe and Alex will be flying solo for dinner. I am excited about it, its a new book club so this will be the meeting where we all meet each other and decide on our first book. :)

I put up another picture my mom sent of Alex on his birthday. He looks fascinated with something.

Joe has been on the rifle range all week so he is getting up earlier and get home later. The poor guy is tired! Thankfully its only a week.

That's about it for now. Need to get the dog and get ready for a walk! See you all later.

great quote...

we all know i love Marilyn.. I love this quote, wanted to share.

Is it the weekend yet?

Photobucket Image Hosting
Hello! I got a picture from my mom of this weekend, so here is Alex being Alex.. probably talking up a storm as usual. ha!

Right now we are dealing tantrums and more tantrums. Not sure where they are coming from, but we are trying to ignore them and not encourage it. Hopefully its a stage and will get over it for now. Save the tantrums for the terrible twos! :)

Besides that we are just hanging out. Joe is at the range, shooting rifles or whatever they do ;-) this week and next week. I am trying to stay ahead with my schoolwork so that I dont get overwhelmed. I like to stay ahead of the game if I can.

The weather is starting to cool down a little. At least for now. I am happy about that. I am so sick of heat! Its time for summer to leave.

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday!

Better than yesterday!

Photobucket Image Hosting

Hello! Alex's temperature is back down and he a little cranky but he isn't attached to my hip. So that is a good thing :)

I posted a picture of him on his new giraffe rider. Joe's friends from work got it for him for his birthday. He is not sure what to do with it yet. He will sit on it and I push him around, or he stands at the front of it and pushes it while he walks but I am sure in a few days he will get it.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Giving this a try.

I wanted to have a whole "blog" dedicated to the our family, so friends and family that live further away can catch up on our daily lives and what is going on with all of us. It will probably mainly be me writing but Joe might every now and then come on and tell everyone a little story whatever he decides.
I will post pictures and try to keep this updated as much as possible.

Anyways,

Alexander is ONE years old. His birthday party was Saturday Sept. 6th, in my eyes, was a great success. Thanks to family and friends that helped us that day. I wouldn't have been able to do it without them. (you all know who you are!) I will post some pictures when I get some. We got so many clothes, which is what we really needed! So that was great. Alex is going to be styling! :)

Sunday was a clean up day and that was about it. Just resting up for the week to come.

Monday Alex had his 12 month appointment, he weighs 21 lbs and is 30 1/4 inches in length. He is on track with everything and in good standing in the percentiles. We are going to start giving him whole milk now, but he has to still drink the lactaid kind, the lactose free milk. He got a few vaccinations, but not all of them, we will be waiting on a few of them. Last night he had a pretty bad fever and is still a little feverish and tired from them. :( I am sure he will be back to his normal self tomorrow.

I started school on Monday! I am doing an online degree program for Early Education. I will be doing that for a good while and then eventually I will transfer to a traditional college to finish it up. I would love to be teaching by the time Alex starts school, so I have a few years! Alex and I are going to start going to a play group a few times a week to get out and meet more people up here. Something to get out of the house. I am such a homebody, but know that we both need to get out. I also signed up for a book club, which meets in a few weeks, it will be nice to do something I love (read) and have an activity to do alone. We all need some alone time!

Joe is doing well, work is stressful, but he is still working hard as usual. He is building me a bicycle. Well, sort of... its taking a while, but he only has weekends to work on it, and we usually try to have some family outing on the weekends, so time is limited.

Things should be picking up and getting busy now that Fall is coming. I am really ready for it! I am sick of the heat! Even though it doesn't get too cold here I cant wait to snuggle with some hot coffee and sweats in the morning! I also really crave some rain! :)

Here's a recent picture of our family! I will post some more soon!
Thanks for reading and check back soon!
